| ABJD | An Acronym for Asian Ball Jointed Doll, a slight variation of the more common BJD. |
| SD | Super Dollfie, a Volks Brand 60cm Range BJD doll. This term is commonly used much like "Barbie" is used to generalize fashion dolls. For Volks identification SD typically refers to the SD10 body which is a body code for a Volks body that is meant to be like that of a 10 year old. |
| SD13 | Super Dollfie 13, much like the regular SD, this is a code referring to the intended age of the Super Dollfie body. THe SD13 is meant to be like that of a 13 year old. |
| SD16 | Super Dollfie 16, like the others the numerical code is referring to the intended age. The SD16 is modelled after a 16 year old. |
| DD1 | Dream Dollfie One, this is a vinyl and hard plastic strung doll from Volks Japan. They are typically more anime in style. The bust of the DD1 body is soft while the remaning body pieces are a hard vinyl. Many BJD enthusiasts do not consider the Dream Dollfies to be a true BJD because they are not Resin in composition. |
| DD2 | Dream Dollfie two, this is a vinyl bodied doll with an internal skeleton, it is extremely posable, and holds its poses very well. The body is very highly caricaturized, and resembles that of an Anime drawing. The standard heads for a DD body are also very anime in nature. But many use the DD bodies as a cost efficent body for their extra Resin Heads. |
| CP | Cerberus Project, a brand of BJD doll in the 57 - 60cm range of height. Cerberus Project dolls are often referred to as "LUTS" see Luts |
| LUTS | Luts is a company that sells a number of brands of BJD. The most popular brand that Luts carries is Cerberus Project line, many refer to these as Luts dolls. |
